Suitable host gift for overnight stay?

If you were going to stay overnight or for a couple of nights with lovely friends at their house… what kind of gift would you expect to give? (Or have been pleased to receive?) £value or ideas all welcome… not something I do often and unsure what’s the done thing.

I'd probably just take a nice bottle of wine and a bouquet of flowers.

A nice coffee table book?

If they drink, a nice bottle of wine and some sticker books or sweets if they have kids.

Otherwise flowers or nice biscuits.

Wine and then we’d pay for dinner our/takeaway. If we were flint we’d cook dinner.

Flowers, wine, box of chocolates

Flowers and wine are always good. If you are staying a few days and your host is cooking maybe take them out for a meal or pay for a takeaway. If you are a drinker don’t bring one bottle of wine and drink six 😁
