Dehumidifier for small bedroom

JulietSierra · 21/03/2024 11:55

My daughter’s bedroom smells damp and fusty and I’ve noticed a small patch of mould on her wall. I want a dehumidifier that’s really quiet as it’s going in her bedroom. It just needs to be small because her bedroom is little. Any recommendations?

It's,hard to find a small dehumidifier. I got a moisture absorber thingy. It has a chemical like a bar of soap that absorbs moisture from the air . This collects in the bottom. No moving parts or noise. Will try and find a pic.

I have one like this: https://ecoair.org/products/ecoair-summit-s-12l-energy-efficient-dehumidifier-with-carbon-filter-intelligent which lives in the kitchen and is used to dry laundry but might work for you (you’d get it cheaper elsewhere). As far as I recall I chose it because it got a good review from Which and seemed like it would be more compact than some others (and possibly quieter though I wasn’t worried about that). I’ve been very happy with it. I’ve never used a dehumidifier before so have nothing to compare it too but it gets a load of water out of the air when left overnight with a clothes horse full of laundry.

OK it's called Unibond Aero 360 . About £15. Can't link to photo. Does seem to help.

She has one of those already but I think we need something more than that.

That looks interesting as a really small option. I may try one in the bathroom.

We have this in our small bedroom. We use if when drying clothes but it's basically on for around 8hrs a day. It's perfect. It soaks up plenty of water, isn't too noisy and also had a 4 hr timer. The light can be turned off.

We also regularly air the room with the window open, and have the vent open on the window. Just make sure there is nothing externally causing the issue?
