Hi - I just realised I need to let the govmnt know about our change of circumstances as salaries take us over the threshold for child benefits now. I'm a few months out, do they usually ask for evidence and make you pay back?

It is worked by tax years , so a change mid year may not be enough to affect overall entitlement. If it does you have until next
January to submit a self assessment and repay any overpayment. How much has it increased, if you will be earning over 80k next tax year you can opt out of cb payments.
