Indian temple wedding

Evening all,

I have been invited to one of my work colleagues wedding which is in a few months. Just wondering what to wear to the temple?
What would be appropriate?
The invite states that the legs have to be covered and to bring a scarf. What outfit should I choose? 😊 maybe a nice long sleeve top and trousers? Or jumpsuit..
any help would be very much appreciated

Also for the reception what would be appropriate to wear? It says either traditional dress or cocktail. Do westerners tend to dress traditionally or cocktail?

TIA xx

As long as your shoulders and legs are covered I don’t think it matters for the ceremony. You’ll be cross legged on the ground so wear something comfortable!

For the evening, wear what you like as long as it’s formal. I’m sure they’d love it if you wore traditional Indian wear! But otherwise wear a nice dress and keep in mind that more sparkly and colourful > sedate.
