What does 'finish' mean when hairdressers say 'cut & finish'

I always thought that 'finish' just means you get your hair fully blow dried rather than a rough blow dry where you're hair is left slightly damp? I usually say 'oh just blow dried please' when they ask how I want it finished, but do they mean about having it curled or straightened - does this usually come under the pricing of a 'cut & finish'?

Yes. At least it does in my hairdressers.

My hairdresser asks me if I want it straightened with straighteners and this is included in the price

Every hairdresser has just dried and straightened it until the most recent one I've tried. She asked how I wanted it and I said, "Oh! I don't know!" She did a curly effect with straighteners and it looked amazing. I think my options were that, straight, or a big bouncy blow-dry. I always feel a bit out of my depth at hair salons 😂.

Finished means styled which might include blow drying in a particular style with 'product' or straightening or whatever style it is you're going for

I asked ‘what are the options?’ when hairdresser asked that question to me the other week 😄 she said blown straight, curled, left as is etc so I can only assume it’s all the same price and included.

It means they don't carry on cutting forever.

I used to always get my hair straightened, but now I ask for a bouncy blow dry. Have had it curled/diffused before too.
