Apologies if there's another thread on this but has anyone seen cheap Easter Eggs anywhere and if so where? Which shops?

Make my own?

The major supermarkets do smaller ones that are quite cheap, but the reductions won’t start until after Easter.

So how about making them? I have some Easter Egg moulds and actually I have some sugar flowers which are in date.

Whenever I've been in places like Tescos/Sainsburys/Poundland (they had some really good deals in Poundland) I wasn't thinking of Easter Eggs!

How cheap? Supermarkets usually have the basic ones for £1 or so.

Kapalika · 20/03/2024 11:19

I bought a couple of small basic Fredo ones for £1.50 each. Poundland and Sainsbury’s.

Needmorelego · 20/03/2024 11:29

I literally just went in Tesco. The little ones are £1.50 or £1.20 with clubcard.

Aldi have mini egg & other Cadbury ones for £1.25. I know Asda reduced those ones to 60p the other week.

Dsis once decided to make eggs. She said it cost her more in (not as nice tasting chocolate) ingredients than it would have done to buy eggs!

blobby10 · 20/03/2024 11:38

My mum made them one year and it was definitely more expensive and more hard work than buying them! This year I'm not buying any - children are all adults and I don't need any more chocolate in my life especially when I'm paying for the packaging and the chocolate is horrible., Cadbury Easter Egg chocolate used to be the best thing ever but the shells are SO thin now and there aren't any thick bits. Even the £1.50 ones (£1.25 in Lidl) that were a pound each last year don't taste right.

Mazuslongtoenail · 20/03/2024 11:39

I can’t imagine making your own would be cheaper.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 20/03/2024 11:40

In theory I only need eggs for nephews and nieces. Maybe for DB and his wife.

Lidl had large ones for £4.99. In Asda they were I think 4 for £10. And loads of places have the smaller ones for about a pound.

WildCherryBlossom · 20/03/2024 11:43

I think by the time you have bought the chocolate and wrapping it's not really going to be any cheaper
