What did you do after your wedding?

I'm getting married next year. We've agreed a date and were talking about what leave we'd need to take. DFiance said he'd need to take X number of days off. He'd therefore be back at work only a few days after we got married. We cannot go on a honeymoon longer than a couple of nights due to childcare issues. However, it feels weird to get married one week and 4 days later be back at work. It reminds me of the first day you bring a baby home, that "wtf do I do now", but obviously much less life changing.

I worked until 2 days before the wedding, got married on the Saturday, day with family on the Sunday then fly off on honeymoon on the Monday for a week. When we got home we opened cards and presents and then we went back to work (and started house hunting as we were still renting until we got married)

We stayed in a beautiful hotel the night before and night of the wedding, had lunch with family and friends the day after and then flew off on Honeymoon for a week that evening.

We took the day off to get married, had a really fun day, then went back to work the next day. We weren't young though, we didn't want to attach a holiday to it. Like a pp, the wedding euphoria lasted ages. We didn't tell anyone or have guests. Including family. I informed family after the fact that evening in story book fashion email with pics. Friends found out over the course of a year or more. It was a day for us, it was a brilliant day, and I'm smiling now remembering it!

We had one day with a nice dinner out but still think I'm owed a proper honeymoon

Got a burger. Went back to our hotel room.

We got married in Vegas.

We went home after our wedding and the next day went to a fancy hotel, had a meal together then and met up with family for drinks. Our honeymoon was a week later.

Stayed at Manchester Airport for the night and then off to Ibiza for 10 days - those were the days.

We got married in April and were on the last flight out of Manchester airport before it was closed for snow.

We are taking 3 days off post wedding - so back to work on the Thursday.

We had one week honeymoon and then DH started his new job, he was made redundant 4 weeks prior to the wedding but luckily found something quick.

We stayed the wedding jight in the hotel where we had the reception and then went on honeymoon the next day (the Sunday).

I had 3 days off before the wedding but only because I could feel a cold coming on so dosed myself up for 2 days. We had a two week honeymoon starting the Monday after we got married on the Saturday and then another 5 days off when we got back. So almost a month but this was over 20 years ago when people didn't do mini-moons.

I know, right?!? I know how to live!

In the country on the night of our wedding (a Saturday) then back to work on the Monday for a week and then went on a week long honeymoon the week after. So was okay going back to work as had the honeymoon coming up to look forward to!

We went on a honeymoon touring up the West coast of Scotland and Isle of Skye in Scotland. My sister offered to look after my 8 years old DS for a week. After 5 days she rang and said he'd been so good playing with his cousins she would keep him for a second week if we wanted. So we came back down the East coast. Had a wonderful time.

We went on honeymoon the next day for 2 weeks.

We had a few days away at a hotel in England, it was lovely. The point is it's time for just you two, however long or short it is.

My friend's husband took her for a surprise safari, she hated it.

I was very happy with England!

We both went back to work after the weekend. Didn't have our honeymoon until over 2 years later!

We had 3 weeks off
A couple of days before the wedding,flew off on honeymoon for 17 days ,then a few days at home before going back to work
But we had no DC

We had a bbq for our nearest and dearest the next day, we’d had a marquee in one of our fields at home for the reception so it made sense to use it again! Lots of food, laughter and plenty of beer of course. The Monday, DH and I went to our local agricultural show, then he was back to work while I hung out with our friends who’d come over from NZ and Aus for the wedding before they went home.
We married in July, we left for our honeymoon end of December and got back a couple of months later… straight into a pandemic 🤣

Takeaway and then back to work the next day, but we just went to a registry office with two friends!
