How to heal inflamed ear piercing?

I wear earrings every day with no problem. A couple of weeks ago one piercing felt a bit sore and was a bit pussy and lumpy. It’s inflamed rather than infected. I’ve tried not wearing earrings for a few days but it’s then really hard to put an earring is as the hole starts to close over. I’m getting the earring in, it seems to undo the healing and I’m back to square one! Any ideas?

Leave a hyperallergenic stud in, don't change it for a good long time. Buy some spray on stuff - Protolind from Amazon did wonders for me in the same situation.

Clean it with contact lens solution.

You can soak it in hot salt water. It’s what I had to do with my cartilage piercing everytime it flared up.

I kept my piercing in, soaked the ear in a Tupperware and moved the earring around a bit but I never took it out because I didn’t want the hole to close.

Thank you - very useful advice. I have ordered the Protolind and some small hypoallergenic studs. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to keep them in without them becoming too sore!
