Help with import duties on EU purchases

I'm looking at purchasing an item of jewellery priced at £810 from Sweden. Can anyone tell how much I'm likely to pay on top of this for import duties, customs, etc into the UK?

I think you'd be liable for VAT perhaps? I got stung on that receiving shoes from France. Might be worth a check with the company you're buying from?

No idea but after having to pay £35 for an item which cost £30 I now don't buy anything unless import duties are included.

I'm struggling to find any info online other than I will need to pay U.K. vat upon delivery. There is also mention of import tariffs, but I can't find anything that would suggest how I go about calculating what they might be.

I've been looking here but have found it all very confusing www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Ouch! Thats a lot, and surely more than just UK VAT added on top. Any idea how they came up with the final fee you had to pay?

Just google "jewellery import taxes VAT UK".

It appears although I am not certain you will have to pay VAT plus import duty @ a certain % over a certain amount. On top of that you will probably have admin fees to pay to the courier, shipping plus insurance fees.

Is the £850 inclusive of Swedish taxes because you should be able to get those back ?

Thank you, I have googled without much luck to be honest. So this is helpful.

The £810 is excluding Swedish VAT

The online store also offers free shipping to the U.K. from their side.
