She is on the way to hospital and I'm at home with the baby, worried sick, does this look like mottled skin?
She has bacterial tonsillitis diagnosed at hospital a couple of days ago, she has antibiotics, but I'm worried it's actually Scarlett fever as over the weekend she had bright red cheeks like she had sunburn, I noticed a very slight colourless rough rash on her thigh, looked almost like raised hair follicles and were struggling to control her temp even though she had antibiotics, she's been on them since Sunday evening now

Sorry for the delay. Hospital wasn't concerned, said it was mottled skin but it's due to the high temp, aslong as it goes away it's fine. They would worry if she was cold and had the mottled skin.
Doctor expects her to make improvement within the next 24 hours. They weighed her and said we can give her x4 doses of nurofen rather than 3 in 24 hours.
She's just woken up screaming her head off, she must be in so much pain! Never seen her so poorly, I just want her to get better now it's been two weeks !

Thank you.
What I'd like to know is why Calpol is thought to be the main thing for fever in kids when actually in my experience it does absolutely fuck all?!

Calpol doesn’t do much for my little ones temps. She’s very prone to going over 40

I know, what you mean, Calpol never seems to do much for a temp, my daughter can't have ibuprofen at home due to asthma so it's very difficult. Hope today is better.
