sold something on Ebay and now having buyer issues - help/advice

Looking for advice please

I recently sold an item of clothing on ebay. Description was “used – fair” and item had some wear – there was a photo of the wear and a statement in the item description saying about the wear.
Item was advertised as no returns.

Buyer is saying it “doesn’t match description or photos” and “it doesn’t fit”.

I replied saying that the description was clearly show in a photo, with the condition and a statement describing it and that I’m sorry they don’t fit but the size label was clearly photographed.

Do I have a leg to stand on or are they just being awkward? What is my best course of action?

I'm usually a soft touch, but I know I'm not in the wrong here. Just the thought of it is really stressing me out, and as ridiculous as it is, will keep me awake for weeks. I hate confrontation.

Can I decline a return request? I've not had the issue before so not sure what to do? Any advice is appreciated. thank you.

I would leave it at that and let the buyer raise a case and ebay decide.

Balance the risk.
If you have a small number of positive feedbacks then one negative can be very damaging.
How much did you sell the item for? If it was cheap then write it off, refund and tell them to keep it.

Thats probably what I'll end up doing. But its hardly fair that I'd get negative feedback as it doesn't fit.

I'd do this as well. I once had someone buy a vintage cardigan from me. I included photos of myself wearing it along with my measurements and its measurements. The lady then complained that it was too small and didn't fit her. Apparently she was surprised it didn't fit as she was a size 8 and usually size 6 items were fine on her 🤔

I pointed out that I'd done nothing wrong, that all of the information about the garment was accurate and that she should take it up with eBay if she wanted to raise a complaint. She never did.

I recently sold an original Live Aid t-shirt on ebay and the guy complained that it wan't new! Ebay backed him up all the way and I had to refund him. I got the t shirt back but it cost me about £20 in postage and charges.

Thats what I think. I've had a google and it said if the buyer says it "then its right". I'll just refund I think and get it over and done with. Be nice to have the item to re-sell. But given I got like £7 for it, time I pay for return postage it won't be worth it.

Its the reason I stopped using ebay years ago to sell.

How much did you sell for?

My gut feeling is I'd refund & block from purchasing any of my items again, also not ask for item to be sent back because I suspect postage is > sale price.
