Worried about 1 year old daughters hairline

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the correct place for this post but was just wondering if I could have any advice/opinions on this matter

My DD is just over 1 years old and her hair is really starting to grow round the sides and in the back but there’s still not much growth in the front and it just looks as if she has a really bad receding hairline which is starting to look even more silly the longer the rest of the hair gets

Just wondering if anyone else had children with similar hair experiences and how they turned out or how long it took for it to grow through the front etc?

I have attempted to take a picture of it for some context lol

Perfectly normal! That's why babies look like old men.

It'll fill out soon enough

MumMumMumMumMumMumMum · 18/03/2024 20:29

Yep very normal

I agree, it will correct itself son enough. My daughter battery has any hair at age 3 and it wasn't much thicker/filler than your DDs. At 16 her hair is so very thick now that I have to pay extra at the hair dressers. It's very slow growing though, took until she was 10 for it to pass her shoulders

My DGD was exactly like that. Didn’t really cover her head until 3 years. She’s 16 now I took her to the hairdresser last month. She had highlights it took 5 hours as she’s got so much hair.

Here’s DD as a similar age, if it helps

Perfectly normal! Itll grow fine, just give it time!

Cropped for anonymity, but her hair is now half way down her back

My DD was the same. Constantly being mistaken for a boy. She's now two and starting to get the sweetest curls, though she still doesn't have loads of hair. She'll catch up.

How is Your LO now? My 21 month old has the exact hairline and hair and I’m worried as well if it will even out.

How’s yours now?
