Elon Musks Don Lemon Interview

Yikes! Thats was uncomfortable viewing.

I can't even pinpoint which part in particular - ketamine, freedom of speech, diversity and trans rights. I swung from liking EM and not liking DL's interview style to thinking that EM was being disingenuous or not that smart. It's a long watch but has anyone else watched it?

I watched it, it was definitely uncomfortable! I don't know who that guy is but I struggle to believe he's an actual journalist - how could he think it's ok to ask someone about their medical prescription, and then ask if it was really prescribed by a doctor and then ask if he was using it as directed it or abusing it?! Elon just looked really confused! I was a bit surprised that he didn't snap back, or even just walk out, but I believe the interviewer was supposed to be starting a partnership with him and this was the first interview - so I think Elon was probably just bemused that this guy was basically attacking his new boss before they'd even finalised the contract. He also presumably wanted the interview to go well as it was meant to be mutually beneficial so he was really trying to bite his tongue, which is maybe why he looked a bit 'off'. After reflection, it appears Mr Musk has decided that some bloke reading hostile and offensive leading questions then ignoring the answers is probably not going to be as lucrative as he was hoping and has rescinded the offer of a partnership. Really can't blame him after that fiasco!

Thanks for sharing, both had some interesting points. Lemon saying we need to a knowledge past wrong doing & Elon saying we shouldn’t be mired in mistakes of past but move forward.

I thought it was a strange line of questioning re EM's ketamine use but he said a bit later that he himself had posted about it on X in the hope of helping other people so I guess it was fair game. DL seem to infer it made EM unstable which is a risky business when shareholders are listening.
I found EM disingenuous when talking about free speech particularly if he's posting questionable information and letting random people debate the truths of it. There has to be some accountability surely, with great power and all that!

@OtherS I agree I was a bit gobsmacked that he was interviewing his 'new boss' so aggressively.

Elon’s not his “new boss”. DL did a rubbish interview and wasted time when he could’ve asked some interesting questions instead of trying to catch Elon out.

Elon didn’t want to go into partnership with someone who believes in censorship so that’s not disingenuous.

Elon Musk came across really well in the face of it and I’d have been seriously pissed off of an interviewer asked about my medical prescription.

That's not what I said was disingenuous
