What colour theme would you have for a late Sept wedding?

I like lots of colours!

frontrunners:
green- either sage or emerald
blue- like the idea they would be my 'something blue'
deep mulberry (not quite purple, more red toned)?

We had a late September wedding and our colours were a pastel green (like the MN background at the moment if yours is also light green 😂), cream and gold. Keep in mind that late September is more summer then autumn usually with still mostly warm temperatures, green leaves still on trees, not super autumnal like say end of October or November.

Peekaboobo · 18/03/2024 19:26

I'd go for brown.

SirChenjins · 18/03/2024 19:28

It depends where you are - late Sept is pretty chilly up here! I like blue (esp navy) and deep mulberry - not keen on emerald but a soft sage is lovely.

Oo sage green could look lovely! Especially with the last of the summer sun if the weather is good.

OhMN · 18/03/2024 19:30

I like the sound of a pale, sage green

bridgertonbinger · 18/03/2024 19:31

The Ayrshire coast. It's very likely to be wet. But who knows, it might be dry!

More than likely to be wet I should think! It’s lovely down there, DH is from that way - whereabouts are you getting married?

StaySpicy · 18/03/2024 19:33

Ooh! Orange, red and brown! Autumn colours, loads of pumpkins, somewhere with lots of leaves. I nearly went with it for our wedding but DH wanted a summer wedding and it was basically the only thing about the day he had an opinion about!

DodgeDoggie · 18/03/2024 19:34

Emerald hands down!

Revelatio · 18/03/2024 19:35

Something bright to make it cheery! Red, or hot pink, and orange. If it’s a drab day you want a bit of colour for the photos.

IggOrEgg · 18/03/2024 19:35

I went to an absolutely stunning wedding last year that was a rust/burnt orange, champagne and like a deep dark red colour. It was so beautiful!

The Seamill. I'm so looking forward to it. The first wedding I ever went to was there and I genuinely feel like I'm living the dream. Very soppy Grin

Completely not on your list but a burnt orange or terracotta. They will go with most skin tones same with your choice of emerald. Blues and soft green can wash paler skin tones out completely.

Mumofoneandone · 18/03/2024 19:38

Any would be lovely - maybe have a look at dresses/flowers that are in season in the colours you are thinking of and then see what inspires you!
I had a late September wedding and bridesmaids were in 2 shades of pink and a bluey pink. Other colours were seasonal flowers - all soft pastel colours!

bridgertonbinger · 18/03/2024 19:39

Terracotta sounds a bit risky, I don't know.

EasterBunnny · 18/03/2024 19:40

I had ivory and baby pink.

forgotname · 18/03/2024 19:44

We had navy but emerald would be beautiful too x

You can have them all - go for a mixed jewel toned scheme - fabulous for late September as it avoids the summer pastels and the autumn browns. There should be Dahlias available (some are in gorgeous crimson and mulberry tones) and you can buy Eucalyptus for greenery. Throw in some blue Delphinium spikes or Cornflowers and add a few purple Salvias and Verbenas. Tie your bouquet with a long silk ribbon in mulberry.

We had a late September wedding and went for a deep red.

Have a lovely wedding!

It lovely there! Hope you both have a wonderful day 😊

NoSnowdrop · 18/03/2024 19:59

If you like colours then a sapphire blue (September stone).

alternatively mushroom, taupe, oyster, champagne, metallics could be lovely if done right.

Fifthtimelucky · 18/03/2024 20:14

I'd choose whichever of your favourite colours would best suit your bridesmaids (assuming you're having some).

RampantIvy · 18/03/2024 20:24

They will go with most skin tones

I disagree. I think orange suits very few people.
@bridgertonbinger when you say colour theme what exactly do you mean? Wedding dress? Decor? Bridesmaid dresses? Flowers? Autumn colours don't suit everyone.

As a jewel winter I tend not to be able to find clothes in my colours during late summer/early autumn.

user8800 · 18/03/2024 20:25

Autumn? So not pastels imho
Jewel colours like amethyst, emerald, sapphire, Ruby, topaz

MintyCedric · 18/03/2024 20:30

An acquaintance’s DD had an autumn wedding…she wore ivory, bridesmaids in navy all with burnt orange satin shoes and quite rustic orangey bouquets.
