The original debt wasn't something that showed up on your credit file?
I know your phone, broadband payments etc are recorded each month as paid or defaulted.
But if you sign up for something that's never been on your credit record whilst active can it be added when debt collector gets involved?
I basically signed up for something then could no longer afford it (a subscription) and cancelled.
There now asking for X amount which I know I owe and have no problem paying of course! But I cancelled because my financial situation has significantly changed and I just do not have the money.
But they want me to pay the money owed in a lump sum.
They won't allow me to break it up.
And if I don't have £x per month anymore I definitely don't have £xxx to pay all in one go.
I'm desperatly trying to sort something out with them to pay it back but I've spent a year trying to sort my credit out and have started to make progress and I'm worried if they send it to a debt agency that will go on my credit and ruin it again?
Please no nasty comments, I lost my job and want to pay it back!
