Arghhhh! Day 2 and no better! What’s everyone’s remedies for sorting their necks out? I have a pilates class this morning that I don’t want to miss!! It’s so painful.

It’s more the top of my shoulder all along neck , along shoulder and down a bit

Thanks @Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky this is why I’m thinking a Chiro who probably sees a lot of this. I genuinely think the pilates aggravated the sleeping funny - we did a lot of upper body - I just should have not gone.

@lifebeginsaftercoffee why not a chiropractor are they not proper? I could probably get a physio or do you think I need to go to doctor.
i feel really in a lot of pain and ibuprofen is helping but once it wears off the pain is quite severe and actually debilitating

They're not medical doctors. You need to check whether you've got a trapped nerve or something before going to a chiropractor as they could potentially make you even worse otherwise.

@ButterflyTable
I did this 6 weeks ago. No improvement, spoke to and saw two gps. I'd strained my neck sleeping then pinched a nerve in my neck and am on naproxen and amytriptilin. I saw a specialist at my gp yesterday and he said it takes about 3 months to heal.
I've a toddler and I was miserable with pain. All down my arm. As long as you have normal strength in your hand it is just the nerve that is sensitive from being pinched and will heal but will take time.
It's called cervical radioculpathy.

Also to add to heal it you have to keep moving it as normal, no impact exercises.
Now I'm taking 2 x amytriptilin at night and 1x naproxen with omaprezole in the morning, with cocodamol if needed.
I'm not a massive fan of using drugs, but to move it normally I have to take the pain meds otherwise I held my neck funny and found my arm radiated with sharp pain.
FFS tho, from sleeping!

Thanks for this advice. Gosh not sure I can wait 3 months to go back to pilates!!!

ok so this morning is improved but still bloody hurting. I saw the chiropractor who said it was very tight in the back of my head - down my neck tight in both shoulders but the left is particularly bad. Also down the Center of my back.

today I was able to brush my own hair. He also did his little twists etc.

I think I will go to GP though tomorrow if it’s not improving more as it’s not something I’ve had before and the pain is constant, even with ibuprofen .

Get yourself to the GP. You need cocodamol and diazepam. Will sort it really quickly.

Just to say naproxen and chiropractor working really well, in fact the chiropractor is bloody amazing!
