DS is 6. He's had this cough for three weeks. He barely coughs during the day now, only at night. Some nights he coughs loads, some nights barely.
He's basically all bunged up so the cough is from post nasal drip.
I have bought sterimar nasal spray but he will not let me use it. I have tried everything, gentle approach, stern approach, bribery. What can I do? When he was a baby I'd pin him down and do it it would be over in seconds and I'd know it was for his own good. But it doesn't seem quite right doing this to a 6 year old!
Unfortunately it doesn't bother him enough for him to care, he sleeps through the cough, meanwhile I get woken up multiple times a night and sometime takes ages to fall back asleep. If he had a cough that couldn't be helped it wouldn't bother me so much but in this case I know his nose needs to be cleared, he just won't let me do it...
Is there anything I can do?
