Went out last night to see a band- pogues tribute. Drank Guinness, baby Guinness and Irish whisky.
Today we had beef and Guinness stew with colcannon and soda bread. Dh is Irish but the teens won't eat lamb.

Happy St Patrick's Day to you. 🍀

Nope because I'm English. Be interesting to know how many Scottish/Welsh/Irish celebrate St George's Day???

DH is Irish and so are my family so it’s a fairly big thing for us. We went out last night (our first night out since DD was born) to celebrate it. Today we had guggy eggs for breakfast and boiled bacon and cabbage for dinner, both our childhood favourites.

Currently lying the sofa with crisps and Guinness. Had a big walk and a drink after with the family, kids love geting to the pub on a special day for juice and crisps. Mammy was half cut (tipsy) when we got home, so it was toast for supper, storytelling/joke telling/singing a song each in turn before bed. Lots of fun

Imanapeman · 17/03/2024 22:35

@Teasie123 are you celebrating it yourself?

BlazesBoylansHat · 17/03/2024 22:37

Happy St Patrick's Day!
We had soda bread & eggs & rashers for breakfast.

Ham & cabbage for dinner & I baked Guinness chocolate cake for tea.

A day off tomorrow- what's not to love!

I'm Irish. We handed and Guinness stew for dinner. The kids were dancing yesterday.

idontlikealdi · 17/03/2024 22:41

Should have added Irish in England .

DiveBombingSeagull · 17/03/2024 22:41

Seems like half my (midlands) town declared themselves Irish today and were in the sports bar in town where we went as there was an Irish band and Irish dancers (DD included). We are Irish so standard 17th March stuff.

Ffs. Maybe too much Guinness in the stew - beef and Guinness!

CliffsofMohair · 17/03/2024 22:44

Parade! Sunshine! Giant papier maché snake! Carnival atmosphere (literally - large Latin American representation this year).

wonderful.

Teasie123 · 17/03/2024 22:48

@Imanapeman , I did today. Went to a local beach town, where there was loads of parades and music! Had a ball! Thank you for asking.🤗🤗🤗
