I was hesitant to try it cos I honestly didn’t think it would work. I had spent a fortune on treatments that didn’t work, and then the doctors told me to try tape. So I did.

I think it took 3 weeks for it to actually fall out. Dd just peeled the tape off and the verucca came out, roots and all. This is after nearly a year of dealing with it. Fantastic

How long did you have the duct tape on for? Maybe it makes it air tight. We havent had any recently but pre lock down took DD for about 9 months . She refused to have it frozen out (DH did, he had taken her swimming lots the summer was a baby). She insisted on wearing the socks when she started swimming at school in year 3 so she DIDNT get anymore. I was worried kids would think HAD them but she said she didnt care!

Does it work for warts too?

Didn’t work for dd. Nail varnish did the trick.

She threw it away before I could get a picture. I was very disappointed in that.

And she wore it for about 20 hours a day. Took it off in the evening to get a bit of free time and then put some back on. She slept with it on, went to school with it on, obviously took it off for a bath and then put new one on when her foot was dry.

Did it not peel off at all?

Soubriquet · 17/03/2024 19:42

The tape? Nope. Once it was down, it was down.

Please tell me more! I'm trying nail varnish remover at the moment, did you literally just paint the verruca with actual nail polish? I'll try anything atp! Tape might not get this bastard off.

Yes painted nail varnish on.

@TeenLifeMum thank you! I've been doing this since your post. Did you every so often use a nail file to the verruca and then reapply &repeat? I'm going to assume this method works similarly to the tape in that it leaves the growth in darkness so it can't progress ?? Tia x
