Equinoxes and other things

I'm looking for ways to mark the seasons, small traditions and rituals to introduce into our family unit.

So far I've started treating the spring equinox in the way I'd usually treat new year. This is the time for new beginnings and resolutions rather than at the start of January when I feel like I should be in hibernation. I also plan to plant seeds with my children next week, which we can watch grow as the weather warms. Otherwise I'm not quite sure yet.

Do you have any traditions/rituals you use to mark the year...doesn't have to be around the equinox, I'm just using it as a prompt as it's next week and I'm still uncertain how else to mark it. Perhaps resolutions and planting seeds is enough for now. More will come in time.

'Equilux'! Didn't even know it was a word. Or a thing. But I did spot that this morning's sunrise and this evening's sunset are at the same time, and think 'Hang on. That's an equinox, innit?!', so thank you for the education :)

Stonehenge is not one to be missed! We took our kids, they enjoyed the experience but were less than thrilled by being dragged out of bed at 3am 😂 worth it though.
Don’t think of an altar as in a religious thing, more of a shelf, table or top of some drawers with a few seasonal items on. Flowers, decorations, special pebbles or crystals etc. I’m starting to think of my Ostara ‘altar’. I usually get a nice branch from the garden and we decorate and hang egg ‘baubles’ on it. The children love the Ostara table as it also has tiny chocolate eggs in a basket on too and little toy lambs and chicks 🐣 🐑 🥚 💫
