Impossible to get these antibiotics down my 4 year old

Tried every trick, mixed with apple juice, honey, jam, sugar, Ribena etc he just doesn't fall for it. I am resorting to pinning him down and squiring it in whilst he flails and screams which is quite traumatising for him but he's barely getting any down he is spitting 90% of it in my face. Doesn't matter how much I blow or rub his cheeks etc he just spits. He has strep throat and really needs it and I'm so stressed trying to get it down him. He needs it four times a day for ten days. This is day one!!!! Help 😭

Ask for.a.different type from Dr.

Or bribe him with chocolate milkshake or whatever.

I had this with my son at a similar age. Everything I tried he refused. It was horrible taste though. In the end the doctor changed prescription to the sweeter banana medicine as I remember it when I was a child. The doctor said my son would need to have it longer than 10 days as it wasn't as strong but I accepted that and my son took it fine. Just ring and ask for something else

I Know this is an old post but I have just had the same problem with my 3 yr old, in the end made a small cup of tea with 1 sugar and mixed with the amoxicillin and she drank it in 3 big gulps and even said yummy. Everything else she spat straight out.

I once resorted to buying a bunch of tat (e.g. old hot wheel cars etc at 20p each) from the charity shop and letting DS choose a surprise with each dose to get him to take antibiotics.
