I have been waiting for my new claim appointment at the Jobcentre for about six weeks. It's now scheduled for next week - as chance would have it, on the very same day I start at a new job!
Theoretically I could survive until I'm paid but tbh I could really do with the cash. I have a ton of evidence of jobs applied for etc over the last six weeks and haven't claimed anything benefits-wise since I was 21 (now 39!) so would like to be paid the amount due for the period I was job searching... anyone know how this would be dealt with? Would I effectively put in for a new claim and then cancel immediately?
