We are looking at going away for a week in August, we are very restricted to a certain date. I hate trying to find a holiday, and could do with help!
We are a family of 4, travelling will be me, dh and 2 dds aged 9 and 16.
I’ve found 4 holidays all with Tui,
any advice on what to expect is gratefully received!

  1. All inclusive, Afandou, Rhodes
  2. All inclusive, Skala, Kefalonia
  3. All inclusive, Elounda, Crete
  4. self catering, Ravello, Italy
I’m trying to find something we will all like, maybe a nice beach nearby, a pretty town to explore, some character and a place to wander around and spend some quality time together. I like the odd day trip and don’t like it to be too busy or dead, not full of Irish bars and English breakfasts. Hope someone can help or suggest elsewhere, we need to travel on the 6th or 7th August from Manchester. thanks!

I love Elounda. Very scenic., great views. Plenty of boat trips including trips to Spinalonga A lovely mini train that takes you up to inland villages. Sandy beach.. pedalo rentals. The hospitality is fantastic, and children are made a fuss of. Most of the all inclusives are a bit out of the resort between Elounda and Plaka.
😊

All inclusive it's a no brainer you must be spending a bomb already for August. What do your kids like? Sports, waterpark, hotel on beach, bars near by?.

Some nice hotels in Rhodes not been but I did Stell Palace in Crete.

I wouldn't go to Ravello with two DC. It's a small, chic, quiet little town up a hill and multiple hairpin bends from the beach. The view is lovely, but my kids would be bored rigid! It's more a place for couples/adults. HTH.

Thanks, @No1HolidayPlanner and @Sweetheart7 .
Elounda looks nice , it’s a reasonable hotel and I think they would enjoy the boat trips and just generally exploring. They’ve never been on a holiday where water sports are an option, this is quite new for us so it’s all a bit of a shot in the dark. Due to my other daughter, who won’t be with us, being profoundly disabled our previous holiday have been in the uk for a while, France last year, and the most similar has been to Menorca which was nice but a bit too hotel centric with nothing at all around it. We could have been anywhere, this time I’d like a bit more to see and more character rather than purpose built.
AI is the same price as the SC one! So obviously that’s better value but I wanted to keep my options open😂. It’s expensive enough without volunteering to spend even more.

Thanks @LipstickLil . I did wonder. They both like nice places and can appreciate it as far as kids can, but I did think I might be choosing what I would like ahead of what they would like. It’s on my list for the future though
