Does anyone else feel weird when people like them?

I don't know if it's imposter syndrome but when people show they like me when they've not long met me (invite me to stuff, compliment something I've done, tell me something about me is great) it makes me feel weird. Like, why do you want me to come? What's so great about that thing I said or did?

I usually really like the people too and am chuffed they want to invite me to stuff. It's just it makes me feel weird and really self conscious. Is it just me or do others feel the same?

I tend to feel tense, as if at any moment they are likely to be disillusioned when they find out how useless I am.

This made me laugh so much. I am definitely socially awkward so I always feel weird when people organise parties for me or invite me to things. When the newbies do it, I feel they will be disillusioned. I don't drink alcohol which is usually a reason people lose interest

If people say they like you then they have made a judgement.
If people say they don't like you they have also made a judgement.

People don't like being judged whether it is good or bad.

I hadn't thought of it like this. Good perspective
