As title I can’t believe I forgot 12/03. I will never read another new book. Can’t believe was 9 years ago.
Never forgotten.

This pinged up on my face book memories. I so miss the anticipation of a new Sir TP book. My kids are starting to discover him now and its something I'm wholeheartedly encouraging.

GNU Sir PTerry

DD has somehow sneaked into my Audible account as is working her way through my Witches and Guards recordings.

MrSlant · 13/03/2024 21:57

GNU Sir Pterry, I am also most cheered by my DS starting on his books, feels like humanity might just be ok as long as we pass on his clever view of the world (and all us crazy people in it).

I'm late to the party! Someone lent me a copy of Clour of Magic in college, age 17 beccuse I liked reading Forgotten Realms books... and I hated it. Didn't finish it and gave it back with a slight look of confusion and horror on my face.

Fast forward to age 46 and my husband read CoM out loud to me (he often reads to me to help with PTSD) and I still hated it.

Then he moved on to Equal Rites which I protested at, "No more Terry Pratchett!" But he persisted and... Fell completely in love with Granny Weatherwax. He has also read Wyrd Sisters to me and we are half way through Gaurds! Gaurds! Not enjoying it as much as Wyrd Sisters, which I LOVED.

I was at Fantasy Forest Festival last year and met a Granny cosplayer and fangirled SO HARD at her!

Hopefully there are more great books and characters to come, my DH has bought bloody loads of his books now!

I need to reread all the Discworld books. I can’t believe it’s been nine years, I thought it was only two at most.

SeaMeadow · 13/03/2024 22:21

I wish I could read a new TP book to help me make sense of the way the world is right now.

AndAllOurYesterdays · 13/03/2024 22:21

I forgot too. Won't be long til we see the violets blossoming on the trees. Always makes me think of him . I listened to his daughter's podcast on BBC sounds recently and he sounded like a lovely dad too.

I finished reading the biography by Rob Wilkins a few days ago, and although I obviously knew the ending, I'm jolly glad I didn't finish the book on my commute - floods of tears. GNU

It doesn't seems like 9 years because I couldn't bring myself to read the Shepherds Crown for a few years.
GNU, Sir Pterry.

GNU Sir Ptezza.
