Do you have a Mirena coil and use a mooncup?

I’ve recently had a hormonal coil fitted and have been bleeding continuously for about a month (apols for TMI).
I’d really like to start using my mooncup again, as I’m so over washing pads and period knickers, but online advice seems to be not to use it until the coil has “settled”.
If you have both, can you remember how soon after getting the coil you started using your menstrual cup again?

Hopeful bump.

I've been wondering the same, had mine fitted a few days ago but really want to use the mooncup while I'm still bleeding.

Sorry I don't know if this is helpful but I had really awful periods every 2-3 weeks, often changing mooncup every 2-3 hours and flooding.

I had the mirena coil about 8 months ago. I bled every day for the first month but after about 4 months I've barely had any bleeding at all, it's amazing. I can't remember the last time I felt I needed to use a moon cup

🤞I hope my periods stop too. Did you use your mooncup with your coil when you first had it?

Once my Mirena had 'settled' I stopped having periods, fingers crossed for you too OP. I've had one period in approx 20 years (And one pregnancy, planned) and now I'm using the coil to surf happily through menopause. It's great stuff if it works for you, although you might have to hang your moon cup up for retirement.
