Holiday camp in/near Hertfordshire?

Last year i took DC to a small holiday camp near Lyme Regis so we could look for fossils. It had a playground/ swimming pool / restaurant on site, and you could stay in a tent, room or studio apt. They LOVED it.

My problem is that it is 3.5 hrs from home, and for just fri & sat nights plus travel cost nearly £600 (this is in part due to the fact DH will definitely not camp).

i’ve just been reading about Bewilderwood in Norfolk thanks to a thread on here, and again it sounds great, but 2 hrs travel and quite expensive.

does anyone know of anything similar in/ around Hertfordshire? I’m trying to knock the travel part of the cost/ process off.

I have enjoyed Woodside country park near Ledbury. It has camping/ pods/ lodges with hot tubs. You can walk into Ledbury which is a lovely town. It is only a small site set in fields with a lake for fishing/ swimming. So maybe too low key for the kids as no club or pool. How ever if weather is nice they can run in the field! Check the website and see what you think.

Isn't Ledbury in Herefordshire? Think OP is asking about Hertfordshire. I don't know of any holiday camps in Herts, I am afraid.

Not sure it quite fits what you're after, but Whipsnade Zoo has an overnight package staying in lodges. Not done it so can't comment on how good it is: - https://www.whipsnadezoo.org/plan-your-visit/zoo-experiences/lookout-lodge-zoo-sleepover?gl=115f4yfofoupMQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwMqvBhCtARIsAIXsZpaqUsEQg5DTFKDT45Lto0WjmtgzQV1xT7lHxY3i6UsfHqHd65YT80gaAh-XEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Mead Open Farm also has holiday lets. And Church Farm Arderley has camping but not sure what else it offers.

Lee Valley Caravan Park, which is near Hoddesdon.

Alternatively, over the border in Bedfordshire, there's a Center Parcs at Woburn.
