What would happen?

Driving home from work today on a country road, I was doing 60 and a car coming towards me went to overtake the car in front without enough space, they were going very fast, I would assume more than 60. I slammed on and the car being overtaken slammed on and the car that was overtaking moved out of my lane with a whisker to spare. I thought it was going to hit me and hours later feel shaken still.

If they had hit me head on at that speed I imagine I would have been very hurt at least. I live alone and my car is registered to my address, my phone had no ICE added (it does now) and I live about 30 miles from nearest family so not like they would be in the area. If I ended up in hospital unconscious would I just be there until I woke up and gave next of kin details? What would be the process for finding out who I am (from my car I imagine because my purse wasn’t with me) and what would they do next?

I think your car reg would be used to work out who you were, and police would identify next if kin using public records like birth register etc

Thanks! I’m currently struggling with anxiety and finding myself focusing on little things like this, now I have a reasonable suggestion hopefully my mind will rest.

Aw, yeah that's frustrating, when you want to let go of a thought but it won't let go of you.
Hope it's circumstantial and that eases.
I find doing something physical helps me when I'm like that. Anything from a walk to hoovering to yoga to swimming... Anything that's body based and not mind. Not that you asked. 🤣
