If you work part time how many hours do you work and when do you work? Does working part time create the balance you need for your other commitments?

I work 18 hours a week, school hours only.

And yes, I have a good work life balance.

What I don't have is a big pension, but I'd rather have the time with my kids now. I'll have time to increase pension contributions when they're older.

I work 19.5 hours per week. 3 x 6.5 hour days (7.5 but an hour for lunch) fits around pre school/school wraparound provision. Very supportive workplace and hoping to increase my hours in Sept when DS3 will hopefully get another day allocated at pre school.

Currently 28 hours over 4 days 9-5. Works well for us.

I am p/t for the last 16 years, changing between 3 and 4 days. No plans to go back to f/t ever.

Money wise it's plenty and when I was on 3 days I paid extra into the pension.

21 hours a week (7 hours per day plus an hour unpaid for lunch) over three full working days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). It works really well as although my DDs go to after school club on my working days, I then have two days a week to get errands done, go to the gym, have time for myself etc.

It makes things much easier in the school holidays too when I'm always off on Mondays and Fridays anyway.

I do pay extra into my pension in an attempt to make up for the reduction in my salary being part time.

I work 27 hours over 3 days. Longer days but means I have 2 extra days a week free for things I enjoy. I’d never go back f/t as I enjoy the break from work and being around during school holidays.
