...have a year of something service related for yourself free, What would you have and why?

i.e. a year of free nutrition advice, therapy, cleaning, personal training, mentoring, a chef etc. Something someone would give their time to help you with.

Just a bit of fantasy for a Wednesday morning.

I'd love a PT, but there's no way I can afford one any time soon, if ever. Think a year would be enough to get me in good habits that I could then carry on alone after.

A hairdresser!
I pay for PT lessons on top of a pricey gym
membership and am considering cancelling the PT now, it sadly wouldn’t free up enough money for daily hairdressing for a year which is such a shame as it’s one of my most hated things to do 😂

Goneforaride · 13/03/2024 11:32

Definitely a housekeeper ... someone to do all the drudgery stuff (hoovering, ironing, load/unload the dishwasher etc etc) which I do to avoid living in total squalor, not because I love it. I could send my time on hobbies and doing much more fun things .....

Oo good shout! My step-dad is a hairdresser and mum often says he's the best person to live with ever 😂

oo yes that would be nice! But I think after the year was up I'd be bereft and would have to work out how to afford the housekeeper and my many incredible new hobbies!

I’d just get Martin Lewis to move in for a year. At the end of it my finances would be in ship shape and I’d have had many evenings chatting to a nice man.

A PT who does it in my home. Actually, I'd like my lovely Pilates instructor to come round a couple of times a week... I do her one zoom class, would like more but CBA to drive to her studio.

very organised of you!! I think my issue with cleaning and gardening and stuff is that after a year I'd be back at square one. In this fictitious land where this is really going to happen, I want something to show for it at the end!

A really great life coach.

tobee · 13/03/2024 17:01

A skip parked outside my house with parking permit and frequent removal and replacement 👌

Sparetoes · 13/03/2024 17:03

A running coach, to find out what I can really achieve, after 20 years of making it up as I go along and being a bit better than average

DilemmaDelilah · 13/03/2024 18:21

@Beansandneedles I'm being treated for cancer and my DH also isn't well, so cleaning is definitely at the top of my list! Neither of us is well enough to keep the house as clean as it should be.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 13/03/2024 18:39

Personal chef.

Geebray · 13/03/2024 18:41

A housekeeper who also cleans. And loves decluttering.

I am so tired of constantly battling the house!

oh gosh, if you get a long term illness you should get a year of anything you darn well choose without question!

If I had a cleaner on this deal it'd have to be someone who'd Marie Kondo the shit out of the house ... we have too much stuff (mostly not mine).
And a gardener would have to do the proper digging out of the borders and hard landscaping we've never really done properly. Maybe level enough ground to put up a greenhouse... hm, maybe that's what I want.
