I recently sent a parcel through Evri but dropped at the post office. DS is selling his old toys and this was a large package. I weighed it and measured it to ensure it was under their maximum volume which it was easily under. When I dropped it the post office they also checked its measurements and volume and said it was under the maximum. Evri delivered the parcel and it was all fine.
now I’ve been contacted by Evri asking for another £10 payment (more than the value of the toy!) as they believe it exceeded their maximum. First I though it was spam but I’ve since found it is genuine.
I don’t want to pay any more as the postage was already expensive and I don’t believe I owe the money. Not only did I check it but the post office did too.
Evri have no proof that it was over and have delivered it to the recipient. What do I do?

Tell them the PO checked it so no possibility that it was oversize/weight.

when I said this they said that their “post office partners” should not be checking this and thanks for bringing it to their attention!!

So it’s been delivered? I’d ignore it then.

Yes which is why I thought it was spam to start with! They are hounding me for the money but I’m refusing to pay!

I wouldn't pay! Sounds very dodgy contractually.

I'd be tempted to bin that Evri account off and open a new one with a different email address. Or use someone else in future, if possible.
