Any recommendations for things to do in Cologne?

Cathedral. Walk along the Rhine bank. Eat out and drink beer. There's museum with some wonderful Roman jewellery plus a first rate concert hall.

It's my favourite city in Germany, but without knowing what your interests are OP, it's a bit difficult to say.

There's loads to do there! DDs ex BF was from there (he called it Köln, of course) and we went with them for a weekend.
Cathedral is gorgeous, and there's a museum and art gallery there too that we visited. It's nice to walk around, lots of lovely architecture.
We didn't get round to the Chocolate Museum or a river cruise!

Chocolate museum! We also loved mooching around the independent coffee shops more in the south part (like van dyck, absolutely amazing, but that whole area is lovely and really vibrant) and going to a schnitzel restaurant (Bei Oma Kleinmann).

We are not zoo people but the zoo is first rate.

As others have mentioned cathedral, Roman mosaic museum (but it's currently closed for renovations according to tourist board site). The chocolate museum is pretty but quite generic. You can see them everywhere
