A happy thread

Was just feeling very appreciative of my lovely husband and just wanted to share my happiness here.

We've a nearly one year old and my husband is out for the first time in forever. I've come up to bed and I'm about to plug the monitor in when it hits me that the charger and stand is on my husband's side of the bed. Of course it is. Because he is always the one sleeping with one eye open, and getting up in the night with the baby. He's been known to stay up holding the baby all night through periods of illness so that I can get some sleep. He also gets up with the baby at 5am to give me a few extra hours sleep. This is all while he holds down a very full-on job, for which he commutes into the city most days.

I often tell him we need to split the load, but he just tells me that he knows I need sleep more than he does, and it makes him happy that I get a good rest.

This is just one example of many that makes me burst with love and appreciation for him. He's a very kind and selfless man. I feel lucky every day.

What is it your partner does for you that makes you feel loved and looked after? Would be lovely to have a thread full of positive stories.

Great idea for a thread OP and your husband sounds like a lovely man. What a keeper!

My husband always fills the car with petrol and checks the oil, water and tyres before I go on a long journey alone. It's a small thing but it makes me feel loved and cared for.

My husband always did a lot , in all kinds of ways. Still does. He is one of a kind and I know this. But also, waited more than a decade for such a man and kept my eyes very open while was choosing men.
