Should I get my 4 year old head injury checked?

She ran into a wall at nursery nearly 3 weeks ago, had a rather horrible bruise and lump come out but the bruising is almost gone now but here is still a lump. She doesn’t like he going near or touching it, but she’s just fallen asleep and I’ve had a feel and it’s a solid, long hard ridge underneath. Other side feels obviously different.

Can children get a skull fracture by running into a wall?

I initially read on the NHS website that unless their sick, have been unconscious ect then they dont need to be checked, nursery did the usual cold compress when it happened and rang us at work to let us know.

But now I’m reading online about head injuries again it’s saying on another NHS page that all head injuries should be checked. DD is herself, says it’s sore to touch but otherwise is fine.. and because it’s been almost 3 weeks is it necessary to still have it checked? Or should I have done that when it happened l? Should I still get it checked? I’m worried that it’s fractured and I don’t want it to go unnoticed if it is.

Oh. I thought you were asking about a head injury you got four years ago. Either way, it’s a “No” from me.

I would get it checked out by the GP. It never harms to get things checked.
