Please can we keep Royal Family-related threads to the Royal Family topic?

Thank you. I hid that topic for a reason.

@Mumsnet maybe you can move those that have leaked out?

Bump. Please @Mumsnet? They're multiplying!

Leaked??

more like flooded!!!

I'm not usually a thread police type person, but FMD, it's mad!!

I was going to ask MNHQ if they'd move them if they were reported.

PilgorTheGoat · 11/03/2024 20:08

Including this one?!

THE IRONY 😂😂

Plus everyone puts everything in AIBU "for traffic" when if everyone just used the right topic..

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/03/2024 20:10

I've already asked MNHQ and the answer was no. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/site_stuff/5025905-could-you-please-move-all-threads-re-that-picture-into-the-royal-topic?latest=1

Oh thank you @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g. Maybe if we offered @Mumsnet biscuits. The nice ones with the chocolate.

They won’t move them. I reported two earlier and got told that as it was a news story, they were leaving them in chat and AIBU. We have to just hide the threads if we don’t like them.

It’s ludicrous that there are so many topics, yet MNHQ refuse to move threads into them. I fail to understand why they keep responding to requests to create new topics but just let everyone post everything in AIBU.

GinForBreakfast · 22/03/2024 18:39

Please @Mumsnet can you clean up the boards? I'm hiding threads as fast as I can but I can't keep up!!!

OP posts:
Rollonsummer1 · 22/03/2024 18:45

I would usually agree but I think calling leaking out this awful news is not fair.

People need and should be able to discuss this on the main boards.

Rollonsummer1 · 22/03/2024 18:46

@mnhq please don't, and let this poster continue to hide threads?

Meowandthen · 22/03/2024 18:49

I have reported various of these threads in the past with a polite request to move them to RF and that has been done.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/03/2024 18:58

There is no main board. If you start a thread on Mumsnet, one of the things you have do to is pick which topic to put it in. I think there might be some topics always kept out of Active Threads, but the RF isn't one of them. (Obviously if you have the topic hidden it doesn't show up, which is why I have it hidden almost always.)

PleaseenterausernameX · 22/03/2024 19:01

Instead of getting into a foot stomping tizzy, can't you just hide the threads like I'm doing?

It's quite easy.

No foot stomping, no tizzy. Just a polite request. Every time I hide one another pops up. And it's not always clear from the title.

Yes it is "easy" but this evening has been a bit like playing Whack-a-Mole against the clock.

"Posting for traffic" in AIBU just in case there is a single person on MN who hasn't noticed the deluge of threads. What is the actual AIBU?

Am I being unreasonable to draw your attention to a major news story.

Yes, yes you are - because there are already xxx threads about it.

Why should any MN user currently facing a cancer diagnosis and possibly agonising about how to tell their young children have this rammed down their throats to the point of hysteria.

coxesorangepippin · 22/03/2024 19:12

No.

Stays in chat

oceanhome · 22/03/2024 19:20

why does it bother you?
