Are there any IT contracting jobs that you know off?

My dp is seeking a new opportunity within the IT sector. He has 20 years senior level experience in this area and enjoys a challenge. Ideally he would like a salary of £100k

Do you know of any companies that are recruiting

we live in Belfast but he would be open to travel if he could WFH a few days per week *

What is his role?

With respect, this feels like the adult version of someone’s mum touting their CVs around town for a first job.

Surely if he’s targeting £100kpa consulting jobs, he can get himself on LinkedIn and apply for them?

Yes he is doing that too. I just have a few spare minutes to myself.

We live outside mainland so opportunities aren't as frequent

Agree with the other posters that if he's looking at £100k, surely he's capable of looking for a job himself? And IT is a large area. At that level of salary, he must have specialist skills.

With respect, us developers do not consider ourselves IT. Unless you mean he's not got any experience with DevOps.

Can he not find his own job?

I'm just simply putting it out there, sorry.

Has his 20 years in the business not built his network? Seems an odd thing to ask Mumsnet…….

Yeah, this, weird thread!

BrightLightTonight · 11/03/2024 14:06

He needs to get himself on some decent agency books. All my contracts come via agency or word of mouth.

I don’t know anything about working in or near Belfast so can’t advise, but SE England finance and insurance companies currently have a healthy contract base

Might be worth a look at https://www.hubbado.com

Though like many industries, the best roles are filled from networking. Recruiting is difficult, much easier if you have already worked with someone, or know someone who has. Good luck
