Is it worth having a flu vaccination ?

I’m in my early 60s.

An elderly relative was telling me I should/must.

However though I do sometimes get very bad colds I’ve never had flu. And I don’t know anyone my age who gets them.

Yea I have it every year because I work in healthcare. I’ve never had it either but it’s like putting your seatbelt on even though you’ve never had a car accident isn’t it.

Yes, had them for as long as I can remember, never had flu.

Why risk being laid low for a few weeks when there’s a choice?

Why wouldn't you? Flu is a horrible illness, and can kill people. The NHS doesn't offer flu jabs for shits and giggles, it offers it to people who are the most vulnerable because it believes it works, and will reduce the deaths from flu. You are lucky to be offered it, don't ignore it just because you've never had flu.

Yes because flu can turn into pneumonia and pneumonia kills . As you get older you don't bounce back like you used to and flu is so much worse as you get older . I don't want to admit it but I'm old .
