What do your teen boys carry their money/cards in?

DS wears joggers most of the time, but the pockets are rubbish. Do your teens use a canvas wallet or similar? I was thinking of getting him a Nike or Adidas one. Any recommendations? I don't want to buy him something that is really uncool because he will use it anyway to please me! Grin

His phone! Card in the back in case.

DD has a phone case that you can slip cards onto.

shepherdsangeldelight · 11/03/2024 09:13

Was also going to post "his phone" but PatriciaHolm beat me to it.

I also doubt that teen boys carry money :)

Doesn't your DS have his own view?

Talipesmum · 11/03/2024 09:14

Yes, card slot in his phone case.

RoseDog · 11/03/2024 09:17

Apple Pay on his phone, rarely uses his bank card!

youngones1 · 11/03/2024 09:18

Do they have a bank account?

coureur · 11/03/2024 09:18

Phone case for cards. Any money (usually just a bit of loose change rather than notes) in a pocket. Always in jeans or shorts depending on the weather.

gingercat02 · 11/03/2024 09:21

Applepay and a coat pocket full of coins.
Everything lives in his coat pocket, pens, school id, money, travel card, etc.
He does have a wallet, but most of his cash lies around his bedroom

ObliviousCoalmine · 11/03/2024 09:21

Apple Pay. Then I live in a perpetual state of nervousness about the phone battery dying 🥴

Saisong · 11/03/2024 09:31

Yes phone or canvas wallet when dealing with actual cash (given by elderly relatives usually!).

Also wears joggers and I try and find those with zip pockets or cargo style pockets with velcro - got some in sainsburys recently.

SirChenjins · 11/03/2024 09:33

Phone here too - and I also worry about the battery

BoohooWoohoo · 11/03/2024 09:34

Apple Pay or phone here too.

IncompleteSenten · 11/03/2024 09:34

When mine were teens they had these weird leather wallet things with massive chains on that they clipped to their belts.
The wallet went in their pocket then the chain went down then back up to the belt. Like a u shape.

sleepyscientist · 11/03/2024 09:37

Apple Pay and ID/card in the back of phone case.

DS keeps an emergency card and ID in the back of his phone case.

But now I worry about him losing his phone/having his phone stolen.

Thingsthatgo · 11/03/2024 09:44

Thank you. He is a young teen with suspected ASD so I try to navigate some of the social/fitting in stuff for him in the background without interfering too much. But, obviously I am a middle aged woman, so I am not much better at it then him.
I'll have a look for a phone case that with hold a card. He has a very old phone that doesn't hold battery for long, so we can put him card on it, but wouldn't want him to rely on it.

@Thingsthatgo you could look at getting the battery replaced it's generally not too much. DH has the one below, DS has a brighter blue version but doesn't look like it's made anymore.

Thingsthatgo · 11/03/2024 09:49

@sleepyscientist that looks perfect, thank you. I'll get home something like that. Appreciate your help.

In his wallet and rucksack he's diabetic so can't go anywhere without his insulin and always has orange juice and jelly babies too.
