My ex puts in minimal effort so my mum usually makes sure I get a card / gift but she’s been in hospital lately. I went to see her today with a card and the next book in a series she’s reading. She started to worry that DD hadn’t done anything for me. BUT DD had made me a card, made me a round of toast and a cuppa.
We have had the best afternoon tidying out the kitchen and the under stairs cupboard!
9 years ago I was crying because no one had made an effort and today my girl did her very best to make it the best day.
