Eyesight - worse when run down?

Does anyone else get this? It may be me over thinking it.

My eyesight is generally quite good but over the past few years it has declined and I need +1 for reading and phone/computer use.

I find that often I can go for months and not need my glasses at all. Then I suddenly need them all the time.

Last summer I was very busy with work for a few months and quite run down and I found I needed my glasses all the time. Then I went on holiday and during the second week I didn't need my glasses at all, and also for the next few months.

For the past few weeks I have needed my glasses all the time, I also notice I am tired all the time.

I get really heavy periods so it's possible that I am low on iron.

Does this seem plausible? Does being run down affect your eyesight.

I am going to get a blood test (iron) and also get some vitamins and supplements.

well, obviously focus relies on muscles, and muscles work less efficiently when you are tired, so seems natural and logical to me. Also, there is adjustment in your head, you get used to being with or without your glasses, so can go weeks one way or the other

Yes it's a thing

But also if your eyes are dry - they might not necessarily be dry enough for you to feel but dry enuf for vision to be poorer
