Hello all,
My truly wonderful neighbours have sold the family home home they've lived in for 45 years, and are downsizing to a more manageable house now they are in their very late 70s.
We live in a really rural area, with only 2 other immediate neighbours. They have been so kind to us and have given us (me especially) so much support over the last few years. I am really close to my family, but they live 150 miles away, so my neighbours have become almost surrogate parents and we've become close since I was on maternity leave. They've always been incredibly generous with gifts and their time to my toddler, who has loved spending time in their house and gardens .
They are moving locally, so we will still see them regularly but I'd love to get them a gift to say goodbye, thank you, and maybe as a reminder of the home/village they built their life in. I'm a bit stumped though, they are downsizing so I don't want to get anything that will clutter their new smaller home. I was thinking of getting a small, framed painting of their house but wasn't sure if that was a bit naff?
Anyone got any other suggestions?
