I've booked a hotel on here for next weekend and it's now showing as cheaper by £50. This sounds simple but it is as easy as cancelling (I'm within the free cancellation) and rebooking at the cheaper price? They've already taken the money for it, it went out last night and last cancellation date is midnight on the 11th

I don't see why not but I would worry if I cancelled then the other deal was gone I would have nowhere to stay

Try ringing the hotel and see if they will match the price, then cancel. If anything changes or goes wrong on you it's much easier to sort if you've booked directly.
