Can you use air fryers under kitchen wall cupboards?

I am looking at getting a ninja dual air fryer, but just wondered if you can put them under kitchen wall cupboards when they are in use or if it will damage the bottom of the wall cupboard as the steam goes up?

And, do you put them on heat protector pads if you have quartz worktops, or does it not matter. I am seeing conflicting things when I google.

Yes you can, but pull them away from the wall in use the back gets too hot to be against a wall (I melted something plastic on the wall this way) there’s no steam with air fryers
