Feeling sorry for myself

I know it's ridiculous, it is still early on Mothers' Day, but I have 2 adult daughters of my own and an adult stepdaughter that I didn't bring up, and the only Mother's Day message I have had is from my stepdaughter. I did get a lovely bouquet from one of my daughters yesterday, but I have not received any cards and no message from either of my own daughters.

I woke up with a headache, so maybe that is why I am grumpy.

It's 8.30!!!!

It's only 8.30am. I haven't spoken to my mum yet either as it's so early! Give them time.

You got a bouquet of flowers! That's a message there. You're thought of and appreciated.
And your step daughter thought of you too.
You're right to think it's ridiculous. Especially as it's early and you haven't got any messages yet.

Now I feel like a crap daughter as I was waiting until 9am to call my lovely Mum.

Bloody hell, I'm not expecting to hear from my adult son until afternoon, I hope he's in bed sleeping and not worrying about Mothers day after having a stressful week at his work.

Imagine feeling sad because you've only had one message and one bunch of flowers by 8.30am.

Well it's now Monday - so well after Mothers Day. I am pleased to report that the same child that sent the bouquet also messaged me around 12.30. Nothing at all from the other child. No message, no card, nothing. She is a mother herself so she can't have forgotten the day.
