Tesco Substitutions Help Needed

Dostadning · 09/03/2024 18:35

Hi
Products were available at the time of order.
Substitutions is on.
Just checked orders - several products unavailable now, which makes the delivery charge I'm paying a farce.
Substitutions are suggested.
I am guessing the Picker will choose these regardless but would I be better changing my basket and putting in those items myself now, incase they run out too?
Or will it make no difference at all.
If the order is an evening order, when do they start fulfilling it? Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance

If youre not making any other changes to your order, I'd just leave it. They might very well be back in stock by the time they start picking. I find that happens a lot

My usual slot is 5pm to 6pm. I usually get the email letting me know about subs etc about 1030

I could only get a 10pm slot tomorrow.
I think both orders are going to be screwed.
Ah well. Leave it to fate I guess. Thank you x

You should still be able to change the order until about 11.00, it will confirm the time on your email confirming the order. I’d make changes of my choosing .

There’s a “note” section that you can add for each item. for example you could ask to sub own brand biscuits with Fox’s and not McVities

I think the basket charge on kick in if you update the order. If you just look and "Cancel" changes, then the basket charge would not apply - it did not to us the other week. However, if you update the order, then charges apply - call them and ask

A few times we have returned stuff taking basket to below 50 quid as we also shoup at others places, there was no basket charge just the delivery charges

I misunderstood. If you don’t put an alternative then they won’t bring that item so if you need say shower gel then you should add an alternative.

I've never put an alternative down. I just let the picker choose what to replace it with

Apparently, the picker doesn't substitute. Their computer offers up what to swap with.

You don't have to accept subs. Hand them back for a refund.
