Has anyone successfully cut down salt?

I ADORE salt but I'm starting to get scared about the health effects.

Ever since I was a small child I loved salty snacks and it's got worse the older I've got.

My diet is pretty good all round except for this one issue.

I see lots online about avoiding foods with hidden amounts of sodium but less about full on salt addicts like me.

I've tried adding other seasonings but there's no fooling my brain. Even a curry I still want salt on.

Has anyone managed to cut down without hating everything they eat? Does it 'reset' eventually or do you just have to enjoy food a bit less?

I’m not sure as I don’t add salt to anything not even chips!

I thought that it was shown not to be that bad now?

I am also addicted to salt, so about 2yrs ago I changed to 'Lo salt' available in most supermarkets and it's got 66% less sodium than table salt. It does taste slightly different but after 2yrs of using it I actually prefer the taste of it over table salt.
