Do You Do Much For Easter?

According to the tv & magazine ads we should all be inviting half the neighbourhood round for a roast lamb lunch, decorating the house, having bonnet parades & egg hunts, eating vast quantities of chocolate etc etc. I do like Easter but it’s pretty lowkey for us. Luckily I’m only working on the Sat out of the whole long weekend. Have bought a big fruit & nut egg for DF. DM isn’t really a fan of chocolate so I’ll buy her a plant or some flowers. DH prefers a bar to an egg & DD15 asks for money. We don’t usually decorate although I have my eye on some very cute string lights with bunnies & carrots. DH doesn’t particularly like lamb but we might have a Sunday roast, probably chicken or pork. DD will be at her GF’s & no doubt will ask to stay on for Easter Sunday. Weather permitting, we might have a day out on Easter Monday.

When kids were little we decorated eggs, did an egg hunt and rolled the decorated eggs.

Never did a big meal or anything.

Still do eggs for everyone and this will probably be last year of the egg hunt for the youngest.

Absolute non event in this house except we're all off for a long weekend 👍

I don’t know

a) when it is or
b) the last time I bought or ate any chocolate eggs

It wasn’t a thing in my family when I was a kid - I got an egg from my mum and that was it. I was always amazed at mates who got more than one egg!

I feel like I should decorate and cook something special at Easter but I don't know what that is. Perhaps just roast chicken as at least all family likes it. But then again you can have roast chicken any time.
