Surveyor coming tomorrow - does house need to be spotless?

Have a surveyor coming tomorrow morning, appointment was only made today.

I'm in a panic as the house is a bit untidy with clutter and kids toys. I've given it a once over but are surveyors going to be judging the house on appearance too or just looking at it from a structural point of view? Wondering whether I've got to pull an all nighter to get it looking pristine 😂

Just make sure they can access what they need
they aren’t looking for cleanliness

Mine wasn't, but it was for a basic remortgage, the last month had been hell and the whole place felt a bit gritty. I told him I did infact know how to do housework, I just hadn't. A higher level survey will involve photos which the buyer will see so you might want to give the place the once over if you are bothered.

It's just for a remortgage, if we were selling I'd make sure it was looking it's best. Am just burst after a busy week at work so not keen to try and get the house looking in showroom state tonight 😂

No need at all for a remortgage whatsoever.

Surveyor won't care at all about ordinary household clutter or mess.

They are looking at the house itself.

Nope. Surveyors are not tidiness inspectors. Just make sure there is no Lego for them to stand on; it hurts 😀.

DappledThings · 07/03/2024 19:35

Nope, they won't care in the least.
