If you have a Fit Note, to cover 3 days off, do you still self-cert for those 3 days as well?

I'm confused as to why I've been given a self-cert form by work when three days off this week (Mon-Weds) are covered by the fit note given to me by the (hospital) dentist who removed my tooth on Saturday.

Does anyone know if I still need to self-cert, even though it should already be covered?

Thanks!

In my work people either self cert or give me a sick note from the off.
If they give me a sick note they don't need to self cert, either instead of or aswell as the sick note.

Maybe as you can self cert for a week they are wanting you to do that as the note is technically unnecessary.

Maybe, but she didn't say that. She mentioned having had photos of the sick note so not needing to take a copy.

He only did it because work refused my request for a couple of days afterwards in the first place 🤷‍♀️

If you've got a fit note you don't need to self-cert. NHS here.

I didn't think I should need to - seemed a bit weird 🤷‍♀️ I've half filled it in, then realised it should already be covered.
