Tesco delivery saver

I've been trying different shops, Sainsbury's and Asda you can pay monthly, but stop when you want (I think Morrisons may be the same, but they give me random free months of delivery, so have never purchased a delivery pass).

I wanted to try Tesco, I see you can pay monthly, but in the T&Cs it seems you're contracted to them for a year, which I really don't want to commit to.

Does anyone know if you can pay for a month or two, or if you're committed to 12 months?

There’s a 6 month option…

Thanks, that's still more of a commitment than the others. Thanks.

If you don’t use £7.99 of delivery costs each month (£50 minimum order), I think you get a refund.

You can just pay for individual deliveries.

Due to personal circumstances, we've recently switched from a weekly Tesco Click & Collect order to having a weekly delivery.

We have been booking the four hour window Flexi saver slots as there are more slots available than hourly fixed slots and they are cheaper.

We are considering signing up for the 6 month Anytime £7.99 a month plan.

Can anyone on this plan please clarify the following:

Under the Anytime Delivery Saver plan, are all slots offered solely for the one hourly window slots for example, 2pm - 3pm (subject to availability) or are the Flexi four hour window slots also available to plan holders?

I can't find this info in the Tesco Delivery Saver plan FAQ and I am little concerned about signing up for the 6 month plan only to find that there aren't as many slots available as we can currently access without a Saver plan.

I have the 1 hour saver plan - it may be area dependent, but I don't have problems booking slots- but do book them about 3 weeks ahead (can always amend nearer the time if a more useful slot is available). But I always tend to go for same day/time where possible.
But these slots are just for an hour - I don't think I can book a flexi slot.

Topbird29 · 28/07/2024 11:56

I just checked - I can book a flexible slot if I want, or a click and collect as well as the one hour slot. I pay monthly - and as tend to get a delivery every week (I don't drive), I find it pays for itself. And get early access to book slots for Xmas and Easter.

@guineverehadgreeneyes ive recently bought a delivery saver. Every single 1hr slot is available now for free, even the ones that would’ve been £££ before. Looks like this:

Thanks for a quick response.

The Tesco page for plans:

https://www.tesco.com/deliverysaver

that I see in Dorset only says "Home Delivery for any available slot" that is, it does not specify which type of slots are options.

If we signed up for a plan, we would be booking four weeks in advance.

LividSummer · 28/07/2024 11:57

PS that screenshot was for deliveries tomorrow. Would be same for any future date.

You can only book 2 or 3 slots at a time. I think it’s 3.

Thank you all for your replies.

I think for the new plans you can book four weeks in advance. I can currently book three weeks in advance without a plan.

The Delivery saver plan FAQ page says:

www.tesco.com/deliverysaver/faqs

"Can I book a Flexi-saver slot?

Yes, you can book a Flexi-saver slot, delivery charges are applied in the same way as your plan benefit.

For example, if you’re an Off-Peak Delivery customer, Flexi-saver slots that start from or after 3pm will be free. So the earliest Flexi-saver slot that you can book without needing to pay a delivery charge is 3-7pm.

If you’re on the Anytime Click+Collect plan and want to book a Flexi-saver slot, you’ll have to pay the regular Flexi-saver slot fee."

Which doesn't make it entirely clear to me that on the new Anytime Delivery Saver plan, you can book Flexi saver four hour window time slots without incurring a delivery charge.

Thanks for the screenshot.

When you are signed in, is there also a tab for booking Flexi-saver slots or just one hour slots?

Have you had any problems with deliveries being cancelled at short notice and no delivery slots left at all for rebooking for the next day?

Only during covid lockdowns! Then it was a fight to get a slot. I have never had a delivery cancelled. I book the same day and time every week as soon as it is released. The screenshot above is for tomorrow and you can see lots of slots still available.

guineverehadgreeneyes · 29/07/2024 10:23

Thanks for all your replies. I plan to sign up this week for 6 months and we'll see how it goes.

I've just signed up the anytime delivery saver on tesco and just wondering if anyone can help with some information about this please?

I've selected my slot which they all show as £0 and put all my groceries in the order. However, when I place the order it is still charging me for the pick, pack & deliver even with my basket amount being £50 or over.

I'm under the impression that if you pay the monthly saver your not charged for the delivery??

I'm new to online shopping so would appreciate any help

@maemillel did you get some explanation for this? I’ve just had the same happen to me! I signed up delivery saver £7.99pm, picked £0 delivery time for my order, spent over £50. I’ve been charged £3 pick, pack & delivery. Confused why?
